Eleanor Elizabeth MARKS (nee Chapman)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor Elizabeth Marks (nee Chapman) age 88 of Amherst on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 29, 1930 in Hastings, NS, Eleanor was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Alma (Manship) Chapman. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered for her tremendous amount of patience, love of life and her joy of laughter. She loved her family fiercely and that love was returned in same. Her pets brought her immense joy and any stray that came to her door was treated as her own. She spent many years quilting and knitting and left us all with many mementos of her talents. She was a wonderful Mother, Nanny, Aunt, sister and friend. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Elizabeth Clark and Alma (Paul) LeBlanc both of Amherst, Evelyn Morsy, and Hazel (Len) Jordan both of Calgary, AB; step son, John (Bonnie) Marks, Amherst, and Beatrice Marks (widow of Paul Marks); beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Hilda Wright, BC; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Clark, second husband, William Marks; brother, David Chapman; sister Julia Mitchell; step son, Paul Marks. As per Eleanor’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (902) 667-9906. There will be no services. The family would like to give thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the Surgical Unit at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, with special mention of Rachel and Dana who took care of Eleanor during her stay in the hospital and the great emotional support they supplied to the family. Memorial donations In Eleanor’s memory can be made to the L.A. Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
