Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. Johns NL, Vivian Gladys Joy (Locke) of Goulds age 81 years. Predeceased by her loving daughter Beverly (Whitten) 1990; grandson Baby David Joy 1987; son-in-law Barry Whitten 2008; parents Wesley and Mary Locke of Bishops Falls; brothers Oscar and Verden Lock; aunt Ruby Reid; brothers in law Charles Joy, Francis Joy, William Joy and Thomas Joy. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 60 years Gerald A. Joy; her daughter Judy; her sons Dean (Marquita), Gerald (Leslie) and David; her seven grandchildren Terrilynn (Mark OKeefe), Holly Whitten, Stephanie (Les McGrath), Stephen Joy, Dean (DJ) Joy and Dylan (Jessica) Christina; her seven great-grandchildren Christopher, Brianna, Hailey, Liam, Kylie, Trent & Zackary; her sister Barbara; brothers Lester Locke (Helen), Glenn and David Locke; sister-in-law Cecila Bobick of Albuquerque New Mexico; special aunt Lottie Glavine and a large circle of nieces and nephews, special long-time neighbour and friend Mary Finn and large circle of friends from Goulds. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Cremation has taken place. Visitation on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 18th, 2019 at 10 a.m. from St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds. Burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Curtis Hudson Memorial Fund.
