Cecil Hubert Boutilier

Cecil Hubert Boutilier

Dad was so proud that he grew up on Gannon Rd. He married our Mum, Linda, and raised four children. He worked hard at Marine Atlantic and spent countless hours volunteering the Sydney Mines Community Police, Family Violence, the Food Bank, and anywhere he knew he could make a difference. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree. He was the best father anyone could ever pray for. He was a good friend, neighbour, human. Dad had unbreakable faith that could inspire anyone. What will we do, how will we go on without you? The loss is unbearable for us. Will Emmett and Samuel remember every moment? Yes, Dad, they will, because we will carry you with us everywhere we go. They will never, ever forget you, and we won’t either. You were so loved by so many because you created a life full of moments, pure and simple. Our story began with you, and your story will live on through us. Thank you, Dad for taking us with you on this journey. Rest easy. You leave us with more than anyone could.
Cecil is survived by his four children; Cecil Jr. (Louise), Cindy (Kevin), Margie (Bobby), and Hughena (Stan); grandchildren, Ashleyn (Jen), Kevin Jr. (Laura), Ashley (Gloria), Alex (Jason), Taylor, Nick and Megan; great-grandsons, Emmett, Harold James and Samuel Cecil Alexander; brother, Freddie; sisters, Goni and Mary, and many nieces and nephews. Cecil was predeceased by his wife, Linda; parents, Herbert and Elizabeth (McCormick) Boutilier; brothers, John Dunchan, Billy and Harold; sisters, Catherine and Barbara, and brothers-in-law, Ronald and Jack. Cecil was blessed to have many good friends; Clive Hatton, Dave Strickland, Hugh Moore, Sydney Mines Library, and one of his best friends and niece, Barbara Morgan. Sammy will miss your afternoon naps, and Emmett will miss his drives with Poppie. Please hug Mum for us, until we are all together again.
Visitation for Cecil Boutilier will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. Donations in Cecil’s memory may be made to Autism Cape Breton. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.

“A piece of our heart now lives in Heaven.”
