With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Michael John Nearing, 58, at home, February 1, 2019.
Michael was the youngest child of Ernestina (Pozzebon) and Vertie (Block the Barber) Nearing.
Survived by brothers, Greg, Lake Ainslie and Richard (Joyce) New Waterford; sister, Judi (Frank McNeil) New Victoria; nieces, Lisa Nearing, Melissa, Carla, Juanita (Caleb, Madeline and Benjamin); nephews, Taylor Bailey, Andrew McNeil, and Frankie Conrad (Cathy, Hannah, Josh, Ethan and Kiersten).
Mick will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
Michael's Charm and Wit outshone his disability as a quadriplegic since 39 yrs. Living life to the fullest, and making the best out of everything, his love and pride for his family and our kids, creating a special bond with each one, enjoying family get-together and diners esp. for the girls traditional Italian Cuisine. Mick was an aficionado of fine food and spirits.
Mick's passion for listening to music (being a drummer in past) brought much joy to him and all who could hear themselves think over the music. Always up for a "Road Trip" with his buddies to car races, concerts, and heading to L.A. to camp every summer, full of fun times and lots of laughs, memories we cherish forever. With a smirk and a Wink, he'd announce "I don't get out much".
Honouring Mick's wishes a Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Sun., Feb. 10, 2-6 p.m. New Waterford Legion.
