
Melva Roberts
ROBERTS, MELVA ISABELLA (FOSTER) (MOORE) - The death of Melva Roberts, 92, of Quispamsis, wife of Gilford Roberts, and the late Edmund “Ted” Foster, occurred May 31, 2011 at Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis. She was born in Saint John, daughter of the late Walter and Nettie (Drew) Moore of Long Reach, NB. Melva was an active member of St. James’ Anglican Church, Long Reach and an active member of Moss Glen Branch 62, Royal Canadian Legion serving as president of the Ladies Auxiliary for several years. Besides her husband, Gilford Roberts, she is survived by one son, Walter Foster of Oakville, ON; eight grandchildren, John, Carolyn, Susan, Katherine and Craig of NB, Andrea and Jennifer of ON; seven great grandchildren; one brother, William “Bill” Moore of Toronto; several nieces and nephews.
By Melva’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. James’ Anglican Church in Long Reach at a day and time to be announced. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. A reception in Frances Smith Memorial Hall following the committal service. In lieu of flowers donations to St. James’ Building Fund will be greatly appreciated by the family.
