At the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge on Saturday February 2, 2019 the peaceful passing of Catherine Annie Annear, in her 101st year, occurred with family by her side. Devoted wife of the late Harold Annear. Born in Victoria Cross, March 31, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (MacKenzie) MacKenna. Catherine will be greatly missed by her loving daughters; Marilyn Elliott (Keith), Elizabeth Nicholson (Vernon), Linda Fossett (Wayne); twelve cherished grandchildren; twentyfour adored great grandchildren; sister Ruth Nelson; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter Margaret MacKinnon; grandson Jeff Elliott (Tanya deceased); brothers William MacKenna, Stewart MacKenna; sister Margaret Aitken, brothers-in-law Leland Nelson and Parker Aitken. Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Service to take place in the Funeral Home Chapel (with live streaming) on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 11:00 am. Interment to take place in the Lower Montague Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lower Montague Cemetery or the Lower Montague Women's Institute Hall, would be appreciated.
