It is with great sadness we, the family of Harold Smith, announce his passing on Feb 1, 2019 at the age of 91 following a brief illness.
He was born Dec 10, 1927 in Sydney Mines to the late Thomas and Lillian (Benoit) Smith.
He moved to Brantford Ontario in 2009 to be with his son Paul and his family.
Harold worked as a Professional Mechanical Engineer at Atomic Energy in Glace Bay for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed building houses and working on small motors in his garage.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (Colburn) Smith; his son, Russell, and his brothers, Thomas, and Livingstone (Libbi) Smith, and his niece, Susan.
He is survived by son, Paul (Debbie) of Ontario; his brother, Cecil, North Sydney; his grandsons, William Paul, Jason, and Nathan. As well as his granddaughter, Laura.
At his request there will be no visitation, or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be at a later date.
