Linda Blackie
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Linda Blackie, age 67, on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in North Sydney on April 22, 1951, she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie (Clarke) Bennett. Linda was happiest when spending time with her three grandchildren. They were the light of her life.
She is survived by her three sons; Joseph Kenneth (Amanda Ayres), Lawrence Francis and David Andrew. Her three grandchildren, Brooklynn, Brian and Jordan.
Also surviving are her sisters, Ethel Hillier, Irene (Dave) Robertson, Sandra (Stuart) Andrews, Donna (Lorne) Edmunds; her brothers, Douglas, Roy (Annette), Roderick (Theresa), Andrew (Darlene), and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Joan and Mary Louise, and brothers, Frank, Kenneth, and John in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place at 4 p.m. in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Stacey LeMoine officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
