Arthur Mullins Arthur Mullins

Born In: Glace Bay, Nova Scotia

Passed on: February 13th, 2019

Art passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in his 82nd year.
He was born in Glace Bay, NS, the son of Miriam (nee Littler) and Pius Mullins.
Art is survived by his three children, sons, Arthur (wife Carol), Brad (partner John) and daughter, Ann Marie (husband Francis). He is also survived by six grandchildren, Chris (partner Kim), Greg, Tyler (partner Caitlin), Devon, Dylan and Deanna, as well as two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Summer. He is also survived by one brother, Paul; two sisters, Milley and Mirium and many nieces and nephews.
Art was predeceased by his siblings, brothers, John, Cecil, Bob, and Pius (Ducky) and sister, Bessie.
Art enjoyed wonderful friendships with so many people throughout his life, of special note is Jackie Popwell, his oldest and dearest friend.
He was a loving father and grandfather who took every opportunity to pull his girls in for a dance when a good Harry Hibbs song was on the stereo. He spent his working life with DEVCO, working in both the colliers and ending his working career in the Pattern Shop on Official Row. Even in retirement he remained very involved in his carpentry work guiding and supporting his oldest son, Arthur, in getting his construction business off the ground. As recent as several weeks ago you could find him in the lumber yard of Woodland, watching to make sure the trucks were loaded correctly and ready for shipment. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Special thanks to the amazing caregivers with Palliative Care, Dr. Ann Francis D’Intino and RN Michelle Kelly and the VON nurses for their attention and care, ensuring his time left was treated with love, respect and dignity.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Pattens Funeral Home on Union St., Glace Bay on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. Guests can meet with family from 1- 2 at the funeral home. Interment of his cremated remains will take place in St. John’s Cemetery in the spring.
