It is with great sadness that the family of the late Georgina (Jean) Targett (nee MacDonald) announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family at the Corner Brook Long Term Care on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories: her children: Shirley (Chris), Marie, Catherine (Leo), Doreen (Dave), Joanne, Wayne (Kathy), Frank (Rita), Lorraine (Kerry), Danny (Angie) and daughter-in-law Margaret. 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her siblings Edward and (Celestine -Tina). Also, a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Georgina was predeceased by her husband Les, her sons Roger and Bob, her parents Neil and Catherine, brothers Wilfred, Angus, Gerald, Tommy and Kevin. Her sisters Dorothy, Teresa, Vera and Rose. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Robert Young and the nursing staff of 4 North of the Corner Brook Long Term Facility for the wonderful care our mother received. At Georgina’s request, cremation has taken place. A visitation for family and friends will be held from Country Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb 21, 2019 between the hours of 7-9pm from where the funeral service will be held from Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Feb 22, 2019 at 10:00am with Father Ray officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society.
