Passed peacefully away at home surrounded by her family on February 23, 2019, Lena Oates, age 93. Predeceased by her husband Thomas (Jan. 15, 2009), grandson Adam Kavanagh (July 27, 2014), parents Patrick and Annie Murphy, sisters Jessie, Charlotte, Clara, brothers Norman, Angus and Cyril. Left with loving memories her children: Barry (Marilyn), Beverly (Carl Clowe), Pamela (Gerard Power), Maxine (Don Clowe), Tara (Terence Kavanagh) and Tommy; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn her very special sister Agnes (Ray Kenny), her brother-in-law Charlie and Dorothy Oates, Edmund and Yvonne Oates, Dorothy Hurley (Jim) and sister-in-law Gladys Oates. Also leaving to mourn are many nieces, nephews and special nephew Damien Kenny, homecare provider and friend Carrie Oates. We would like to thank Community Health Nurse Lorna Lawlor for all her visits and her care shown to our mom this past week. Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday, February 25th and 26th from 2-9 pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Fermeuse. Interment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations made to St. Charles Borromeo Church.
