It is with great sadness that the family of Julia Mae Beal age 88 announce her peaceful passing on Friday February 22nd, 2019 at Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Sackville, NB she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Jennie (Hicks) Johnson. Julia was a member of First Baptist Church, Amherst as well as a member of the choir for several years. She also served on the Board of Management, Board of Deacons and the music committee. She worked at Enterprise Foundry in Sackville in her younger years and later for ABC Heating Ltd. and Kranack's Bike and Sports in Amherst. Julia is survived by two sons Allan (Anne) of Fort St. John, BC and Bruce of Amherst, three grandchildren Jessica Beal of Calgary, Allison Beal of Fort St. John and Matthew Beal of Amherst, 2 great grandchildren Austin and Emersyn, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Julia was predeceased by her husband Murray, one sister Carol McElmon and Brothers Clarence, Cutter and Tom. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday February 28th, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. Funeral service will be held on Friday March 1st, 2019 at 11:00 am from the First Baptist Church, Amherst NS. Interment will take place in the spring in the Westcock Cemetery, Sackville NB. Memorial contributions in Julia’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
