Agnes Madeline Gallant

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Agnes Madeline Gallant, March 8, 2019, age 65, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, following a very courageous battle with cancer.
Aggie (as she was affectionately known) was born September 30, 1953 in North Sydney and was the daughter of the late John T. and Evelyn S. (Quirk) Robinson. She was a self-employed hairstylist, having previously worked at various hair salons in her younger years. She enjoyed her home life, making crafts with beach glass and was very passionate about spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Greg Gallant; daughter, Tracey (Stephen) Boutilier; son, John (Irene) Hines; stepsons, Derek (Johnelle) Gallant, Rodney (Crystal) Gallant, Curtis (Jeanette) Gallant; step-daughter, Tiffany Gallant (Barry Fougere); grandchildren, Virginia and Vincent Boutilier, Madelyn and Zachery Hines, Makayla and Megan Gallant, Akosha, Verix, Janessa and Tyler Gallant, Isaac, Drew, Brooke and Zoey Gallant, Lilah, Aven, and Leo Gallant; great-grandson, John Nathan (Nate) Xavier Mann.
Also left to mourn are her brothers, Joseph (Karen) Robinson, William (Priscilla) Robinson, Thomas Robinson; her only sister, Leona (David) Tobin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Alex and George Robinson; infant sister, Julia and niece, Wanda Buffett.
The care that Aggie received from the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Unit was second to none. The level of excellence and compassion shown to her and her family was outstanding.
Memorial donations may be made to either of these units or the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
Visitation well take place Monday, March 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Prayers will be held at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating.
