The family of Harry Arthur Baden “Hab” Walsh sadly announce his passing on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Halifax Infirmary, VG Site.

He grew up in Sydney. In June 1962 he joined the military where he proudly served with 2PPCLI, then transferred to the Reserves serving with 1RNBR, NB and 2NSH Cape Breton. Upon retirement he helped start a cadet program in 1999 which he stayed with until September 2005.
HAB loved living in Grand Mira North where life was a nice slow pace. A man of very few words and easily embarrassed he was usually the target of jokes at family events. After HAB moved to Grand Mira he joined the Marion Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. He so enjoyed this part of his life and spent many hours keeping the financial records up to date.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (MacLellan); children, Andrea, Halifax, Heather (Jim) Burke, Calgary, Jennifer (Carl) Pike, Cole Harbor, Martin (Paula), Winnipeg, Lisa, Hamilton; grandchildren, Mary (Dan) Mills, Calgary, Sarah (Chael) Burke, Calgary, Jake Burke, Calgary, Jack Pike, Cole Harbour, Karen Thorne, Winnipeg; great-grandson, Fisher Burke-Gust, Calgary.
Hab will be forever missed by his little companion, Belle, who was never too far from his side.
Visitation will take place Tuesday March 12, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday in the Chapel at 11 a.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Marion Bridge Volunteer Fire Department.
