Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Friday, March 8, 2019, George N. Smith of Harbour Grace, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents: Benjamin and Mary; sister Rita (Ron) Russell; infant siblings; parents-in-law: Bernard and Eileen Farrell; brother-in-law John Baker; sisters-in-law: Mary Smith and Cynthia Misch. Left to mourn, wife Betty; two daughters: Paulette Smith, St. John’s and Nicole (Greg) Godden, Goose Bay; one son George Jr. (Tracy), Belfast, UK; one granddaughter Grace, "Poppy's Girl"; three brothers: Edgar, Sudbury, ON, Austin (Suzanne), St. John’s, and Dave (Christine), Marystown; two sisters: Gertrude Baker, St. Anthony and Linda (Alec) Turpin, Mount Pearl; brothers-in-law: Bernard (Debbie, deceased) Farrell and Murray Misch, both of Harbour Grace; sisters-in-law: Lynda (Aubrey) Greeley, Ottawa, ON, Debbie (Gabe) Gregory, St. Philips, Sharon (Dwayne) Crummey, Victoria, and Michelle (Pat) McCarthy, Orillia, ON; special furry friends: Molly, Zoe, and Murphy; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10. Cremation followed.
