Robert “Bob” Lloyd Dalziel

The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 of Robert “Bob” Lloyd Dalziel, age 92 years. Born in Charlottetown to his late parents Albert and Priscilla (Llewellyn) Dalziel and raised in Georgetown until the age of 11 years when the family moved to Charlottetown. He was educated at West Kent School, Horton Academy, Wolfville, N.S. and Prince of Wales College where education took a back seat to football, rugby and particularly hockey. He was employed as a marine electrician for 38 years working mainly on the M.V. Abegweit while living in Borden. In 2013 he moved to Cornwall. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Ward) in 2015. Survived by his children Susan Dalziel, Anne Dalziel (Rick) Singer and Stephen (Esta) Dalziel. Grandfather of Bethany (Cory) MacDonald, Maura (Victor) VanHul, Jillian (Mitch Thompson) Dalziel and Andrew (Emma Chaisson) Dalziel. Great-grandfather of five girls – Lexie and Brayah MacDonald, Rueni and Cylla VanHul and Harriet Dalziel Thompson. Survived by Pauline’s sister Georgie (the late Arthur) Rodd and predeceased by Pauline’s sister the late Gladys (the late Hebert) Phillips. Predeceased by his infant brother John Frederick and parents-in-law William and Jemima (Godkin) Ward. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel for visiting hours on Sunday from 2 - 4:45 p.m. Funeral service Monday from West River United Church, Cornwall at 11:00 a.m. Interment later in Sherwood Cemetery. Family flowers only, however, if so desired, donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
