Robert (Bob) John Crutcher

Robert (Bob) John Crutcher

Passed on: March 23rd, 2019

It is with great love and respect that we wish to acknowledge that our dad - Robert (Bob) J. Crutcher’s journey in this life ended at the age of 75 on March 23, 2019. With two and half years of a renewed life after being diagnosed with Leukemia, it finally got the most of him, but not before providing all of us with many laughs and countless memories. Our dad grew up on the Isle of Wight in England, and moved to St. John’s, NL Canada with us in 1970. His stay in Newfoundland was intended to be short, but his love for its beauty kept him here even though the memories and thoughts of living on the Isle of Wight were never forgotten. In St. John’s, Bob started own company (Geodata) in 1982 where he finished his professional career. He is equally known for his great compassion for humanity, sense of adventure, love for the arts, music and photography. He had a non-stop love for a wide variety of music – a trait he did an incredible job of passing on to his children. We would like to remember him as one of the few people who seemed to get younger, as he grew older. He was known to put his family and friends first, laid back and relaxed, and always with a strong opinion. These combined are often referred as simply being a Crutcher. He is survived by his four children, Kate, Kristina, Rob and Nancy, as well as his sister (Janet), brother (Len), 8 grandchildren and close friends. A gathering for a celebration of his life will be held at the Gypsy Tea Room (downstairs reception room) from 2:00 to 5:00 on Saturday March 30th. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or The Community Food Sharing Association.
