John Patrick Lawlor

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, in the presence of his loving family, John Patrick Lawlor, aged 83 years. Predeceased by his parents, Gus and Marion (Lake) Lawlor; brother, Gus and sisters Marie Gurrieri and Joan Kavanagh; parents-in-law, Bill and Mildred Hansford; brothers-in-law, Harry Hansford and Don Hansford. Also predeceased by best buddy, Bill Kennedy, who always lovingly referred to John as “the ol’ fella”. Left to mourn his loving wife, Louise (Hansford); daughters Michele Lawlor and Kim Woodman (husband Rick) and grandchildren, Staci and Ian Woodman. Also left, brothers Bill (Dorothy) and Joe; brother-in-law, Roger Hansford (Angela), sister-in-law, Ruth Noseworthy (always his dancing partner to the waltz, “I Wish I Was 18 Again”); and their families. Also left to mourn, very special friends, the Kennedys of Outer Cove – his second family, whom he loved dearly. Many round table discussions were held on Sunday mornings over a game of crib or a mug up in the woods. Even though he was a “townie”, John dearly loved Logy Bay, Middle Cove and Outer Cove. A sincere thank you to the staff of the Emergency Department and 4SA of the Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care over the last few days. Thank you to his niece, Patricia, for her visits and for bringing “Nanny Lawlor's” Date Crumbles. Thank you, also, to Fr. Wayne Bolton, SJ, for his prayers and compassion extended to our family during our time of need. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, March 28th, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m and 6 – 9 p.m. A celebration of John's life will take place at Caul's Chapel, LeMarchant Road on Friday, March 29th, 2019 at 1 p.m. Private inurnment. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to St. Pius X Parish or to a charity of one's choice.
