Dill, Joseph “Joey” Charles, age 88, of Currys Corner, Hants County, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on November 12, 1930 in Windsor, Nova Scotia. He was a son of the late Joseph and Gwendolyn (Hayes) Dill. Joey played senior hockey in Windsor & Wolfville, last playing for the 1962 Windsor Maple Leafs, before coaching school, intermediate and senior hockey in Windsor. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Eunice Haley; children, Bob (Valerie), Martock; Jo-Anne (Gary) Wilson; Bradenton, Florida; Janet (Brian) Lowe, Currys Corner; Mary Ann (Mark) Tracey, Martock; grandchildren, Farrah, Josh, Ryan, Ben, Haley, Jessica, David, Jennifer, Mattea, Marcie, Maddy; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara McKay, Windsor; Ruthie (Tom) Davis, Windsor; many nieces and nephews. Joey was predeceased by brothers, David and Arnold Dill; sisters, Kathleen Boyd, Honey MacAskill, Anne Sheehy. Visitation was held 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
