Passed peacefully away on Friday, March 29th, 2019 at the Palliative Care Unit of the L. A. Miller Centre, Jean Mary Leonard (nee Kilfoy), aged 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Leonard; grandson Steven Leonard; brothers Bill and Peter; sisters: Marion, Frances, Ursula, Florence and Daphne; brother and sister-in-law Fred and Theresa Thorne; and good family friends Jim and Mary Tapper. Leaving to mourn her sons: Thomas (Hannah), Vincent (Maureen), Douglas (Donna), John, Bobby (Bun) and Sean (Jamie); daughters: Roseann, Renée (Craig) and Florence (Rainyl); adopted daughter Renée (Mike); 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two special nieces Sharon Thorne and Elizabeth Milot; uncle Peter Milot (Jen); best friend Mary (Pat) Gardiner; good friends Angela Simmons and Linda Squires; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank her family doctor, Dr. Diane Keating-Power and her receptionist Tracey. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses staff, volunteers, and Sister Monica at the Palliative Care Unit for their kind words and wonderful care over the past two weeks. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 from 2-9 p.m and Monday, April 1st, 2019 from 10 a.m – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 from St. Patrick’s Church at 9:30 a.m, with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Road. Flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
