Mary Wendolyn "Wendy" McMullin

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt, Mary Wendolyn McMullin. Wendy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, April 1, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Wendy was born in North Sydney on August 13, 1954. She was the daughter of Sadie and the late Garfield Boutilier of Little Pond.
Wendy grew up in a house full of family, love, and lots of laughter. She shared a very special bond with her sisters and brothers. Wendy was known for her quick wit, her humour, and her devotion to her family. Wendy married Jed McMullin in 1979, and they started their family together in Sydney Mines. Despite the devastating loss of Jed in 1997, Wendy’s strength and resilience persevered. She worked hard to support her girls, and together they created many cherished memories. Wendy also shared many happy years with her partner Carl Gardner. Carl quickly became a member of the Boutilier Clan, and he and Wendy, along with the family, loved to camp and spend time in Beaver Cove, playing cards and sitting around the campfire. Wendy enjoyed road trips with her daughter Geralyn to Beaver Cove and Ingonish, and to visit her daughter Michelle.
She will be forever cherished by her daughters, Geralyn and Michelle (Vince Marsden); her partner, Carl; also by Carl's son, Wayne Gardner; siblings, Donna Coady, Debby (Sandy Jardine), Marcy (Billy Unsworth), Nancy Balah, Irene (Les Ferguson), Gary (Cynthia), Cindy (Greg LeBlanc), and Paul (Gayle). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly, especially Erin and Kenneth, with whom she had a very special connection. Wendy was also close to her fur grandbabies, Sierra, Shea, Brook and Tingy.
Wendy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jed McMullin; father, Garf Boutilier; father and mother-in-law, Francis and Edith McMullin; brother-in-law, Dave Balah, and fur baby, Weaver.
Visitation for Wendy McMullin will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. for family and friends only at the request of the family in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
Donations may be made in Wendy's memory to Feral and Abandoned Cat Society of Sydney.
Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
