William Martin 'Bill' Morrison
William Martin Morrison, of Sydney, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born June 2, 1948, in Sydney, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Morrison) Fewer and raised by his maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Hughen and Christie Morrison.
In his younger years, Bill worked for Modern Aluminum installing windows and siding. He also worked as a carpet and flooring installer. For many years, he drove taxi for various companies around Sydney. Bill loved to work with his hands and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. Family was very important to Bill, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret (Hunt); daughter, Treena (Danny) MacVicar, Redcliff, AB; son, Edward, Sydney; sisters, Mary Fewer, Sydney, Cathy Campbell, Sydney, Judy (Glen) Costello, Halifax, Colleen MacDonald, Dartmouth and Catherine Mae MacLean, Halifax; brother, Jim Fewer (Eileen), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Troy Zahara and Monica MacVicar; and special friends, Ellen, Sydney and Kim, Mira.
He was predeceased by his brother, David.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday April 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday, April 7 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Diabetes Association.
