Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of family on Monday, April 1, 2019, James Moriarity age 96 years. He was the last member of his immediate family. He was a retired employee of the City of Mount Pearl. Predeceased by his loving wife Theresa (nee Penton); sisters and brothers-in-law: Clara (Ron) Fleming, Geraldine (Joe) St. Croix, Janey (Jim) Tobin, Gertrude (Cyril) O’Keefe; brothers: Paddy and Clem (Julia); and special nephew Ben Fleming, who was like a son. Leaving to mourn but celebrate his life daughters: Brenda Brockerville (Paul Kean), Connie Moriarity (Keith Foster) and Jean Fitzgerald (Chris-deceased); grandchildren: Miranda and Evan Brockerville, Hayley Foster, Chris, Tony, Renee and Rhonda Fitzgerald; 10 great-grandchildren; special nephews: Wayne O’Keefe and Tom Penton; sisters-in-law: Beatrice Moriarity and Mary Frances Decker; also, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home where he resided for the past 14 months. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Thursday and Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held from Mary Queen of the World Parish, Topsail Road on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
