Also leaving to mourn his brothers and sisters: Fred (Patsy), Chris (Judy), Dave (Marge), Linda Fagan (Bas), Lorraine Ralph (Harry), Jeanette Murphy (Gerry), Daphne Barron (Charlie) and Karen Martin (Walter); brothers and sisters-in-law: Sandra Chafe (Stewart), Donna Putt, Daisy Putt, Terry Putt (Shirley), Benny Putt (Nellie) and Bob Rideout (Roxanne); as well as many nieces and nephews. Also waiting to greet him in heaven, his mother and father-in-law Madeline and Philip Putt; brothers-in-law Philip Putt and Pat Fagan; and sisters-in-law Winnie Murphy and Beatrice Rideout. His wife, children, grandchildren, and family were his greatest joy in life and he cherished each and every moment with them and all the family gatherings that were held. He was a great example of how to be a fantastic son, spouse, father, grandfather, brother, hard worker and a truly good and kind person. He worked hard during his life and enjoyed his retirement years spending it with his family, swimming, walking, and being “poppy”. He was especially proud of his childhood home in The Outer Battery and spent many days visiting and walking the trails and reminiscing about his early years there. Dad, we want you to know that not all the stars are in the sky. Sometimes they speak and walk on earth … we’ve known one in your time here. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. from St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds. Inurnment to follow at St. Kevin’s Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
