Helen M. Chapman, 92, of Golden Years Estates and formerly of Church Court, Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Born in Baie Verte, NB, she was the daughter of the late Mansel and Beatrice (Mills) Copp. Helen was a retired waitress having worked at Borden’s Restaurant in Sackville for many years and at several restaurants in Moncton. She attended St. John’s United Church. Helen was a former member of the Sackville Curling Club, Beausejour Curling Club and MCA, member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Moncton Legion Branch #6 for over 53 years and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Sackville Legion Branch #26. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Blood Donor Clinic and retired at age 90 after 30+ years of service. Helen will be sadly missed by her daughters, Joan Blakney (late Perley) of Sackville, Judy Reddick (Jim Cook) of London, ON, Betty Russell (Peter) of Rusagonis and Gloria Aucoin (Gerard) of Cheticamp, NS; sons, Stephen Chapman (Cheryl) of Saint John and Paul Copp (Carol) of Riverview; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Betty Sears (Chalmer) of Sackville; sister-in-law, Marie Logan, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joy Conley and brothers, Hazen and Robert Copp. In keeping with Helen’s wishes, there was no visitation hours or funeral service. Interment will be held in Sackville Cemetery later in the spring. Arrangements under the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
