It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our mother, Shirley Elizabeth on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the age of 88. Shirley was born in New Annan, N.S. and was the eldest of five daughters. She was predeceased by her parents, James Aitchison and Kathleen (Carty) Aitchison and by her sisters Joyce Wills and Deanna Pace and by an infant son. She is survived by her five children Robert (Danielle Allard) Rioux, Jocelyn (Ed Currie) Rioux, Jo-Anne (Paul) Macaulay, Jacqueline (Mark) Pothier, John (Linda) Rioux and her sisters Joan Lockhart and Linda MacQuarrie. Her family including her eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren will miss her dearly. Shirley's favorite times were spent reminiscing with family and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the caring staff at Aberdeen Hospital for the excellent care of our mom. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be at a later date.
