DORE, GERALDINE ELLEN - It is with great sadness that the family of Geraldine Dore announce her death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 at the age of 90. Born in Marysville, NB on December 18th, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Austin) Morehouse. Geraldine leaves behind her children, Mary (Darrell) Phillips of New Maryland, Prof. Karl J.(Shirley) Dore of Fredericton and Charlotte (Ian) Sheppard of Fredericton; father of the children, Karl. H. Dore; grandchildren, Timothy (Janet) Phillips, Greg (Caroline) Phillips, Natalie (Scott) Underhill, Mitchell Dore, Katherine (Tim) Jardine, Glen (Karen) Sheppard and Paul (Kate) Sheppard; great grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Gregory, Andrew and Jane Phillips, Julia and Addison Underhill, Ryan and Halle Jardine and William, Thomas, Peyton and Alex Sheppard; many nieces and nephews. Geraldine was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Ruby, Ada, Susan, Greta, Stella, Leona and Grace; brother, Harry. Geraldine was a member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church and was in Golden Girls Club at Grace Memorial Church. She was a long time member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 Ladies Auxiliary and the Retiree Club at the DECH.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Monday, June 6th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a tribute service at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Brunswick St. Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 7th at 2 pm with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Geraldine's memory can be made to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of the donor's choice.
