Alexander 'Sandy' MacKinnon

Alexander 'Sandy' MacKinnon

It is with broken hearts that we regret to announce the passing of our loving husband, brother, #1 dad, and best papa in the world, Alexander “Sandy” MacKinnon on May 6, 2019 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born to the late Duncan and Isabel MacKinnon on November 14, 1935.
Sandy lived on the water and spent his life lobster fishing. Besides fishing, he loved hunting and made many early morning trips to Black Point looking for deer. In his spare time, he spent endless hours cutting his own firewood for the winter months. He loved all animals big and small, especially the pets he had at home.
Sandy is survived by Elizabeth, his loving wife of 50 years; along with his daughter, Kimberly, whom he was proud of; and his only granddaughter, Kaylen who was the apple of his eye and stole his heart. He is also survived by brothers, Danny (Katherine), Hughie (Clara) and Willie (Florence); sisters, Annie (Jackie) and Sandra (Lee) and many nieces and nephews, especially one special nephew, Floyd (Carmen) MacKinnon, whom he loved like a son.
Besides his parents, Sandy was predeceased by his brother, John (Margie) and sister, Marcelle (Johnny).
There will be no visitation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
