Gerald M. Kelly
We the sisters, of Gerald M. Kelly, age 77 sadly announce his passing on May 6, 2019 at the Glace Bay Hospital with his sisters by his side.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Neil and Joyce (Sudworth) Kelly.
He was employed as an OR nurse in Halifax for many years before moving to Cape Breton. He enjoyed being the entertainer, singing and dancing with the ladies at the Legion.
Gerald is survived by his sisters, Joan Graham, Sydney, Vina Noseworthy, Coxheath, Patricia “Pat” Kelly, Glace Bay; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kelly; six nephews, and three nieces; grandchildren of his niece, Neila, Evan and Amina MacInnis.
Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his sisters, Elvina in infancy, Elizabeth MacInnis, Sr. Marie Kelly (St.Martha); brother, Jim Kelly; niece, Paula Graham.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service by request of Gerald. A graveside service will be May 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Cemetery, Glace Bay. All family and friends are welcome.
The family would like to thank Dr. James MacLean, known to Gerald as the “Boss”, the nursing staff at the Glace Bay Hospital for all the care and compassion given to Gerald during his stay there.
