The family of Cecilia MacEachern extends heartfelt thanks for the expressions of love and kindness received during the recent loss of our dear mother. We were overwhelmed with support from our community of New Waterford, our friends and neighbours who visited, sent food and cards, and shared hugs at this difficult time. We appreciate everyone who attended mom’s visitation and funeral, and for those who participated in her service. Special gratitude to the staff who cared so tenderly for our mom at Seaview Manor, the staff at the Cape Breton County Homemakers Agency, who helped ensure mom could stay safely and happily in her apartment before moving to Seaview, and to Dr. Peter Littlejohn for the excellent care through the years. Thanks to V.J. MacGillivray Funeral Homes for your thoughtful arrangement of mom’s services. Thanks to the Parish of St. Leonard for having mom’s service during the very busy Holy Week, and to Father Paul MacGillivray for so graciously officiating her funeral mass. Thanks also to the Parish of St. Leonard Catholic Women’s League (CWL) for the special prayers and honour guard at mom’s visitation and for the reception afterwards, and to our community’s dedicated Registered Nurses for the honour guard at mom’s funeral. These gestures brought a great deal of comfort to Cecilia’s family. “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
