Wayne Farrell Bonnar

It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Wayne Farrell Bonnar, on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, two days after his 70th birthday.
Born on May 27, 1949 in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Farrell and Mary Catherine (Boyd) Bonnar.
Wayne worked for a number of years as a stevedore with the St. Pierre vessels in North Sydney.
He enjoyed taking walks and spending time with his family. Although he had many struggles, he was a very generous man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
Wayne was a fun-loving man who enjoyed teasing his siblings and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sister, Debby (Nayland) MacAskill, Millville; his niece, Nicole (Jason) MacAskill Kaylie; nephew, Denton MacAskill (Karen); also, his three aunts, Betty Stewart, Tina Crews and Beverly Robin.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by a sister, Linda and brother, Johnny.
There will be no visitation by request. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sydney Mines.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.wjdooley.com.
Rest in Peace brother, I will love you forever…Debby
