It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother Annie ‘Nan’ Fraser on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred MacKeigan.
At the young age of 17 she married her husband of 55 years, Lloyd Fraser, and moved to the pier where she remained for 67 years. Mom was a 26-year survivor of breast cancer where up until the last 3 years she participated in the CIBC run for the cure. She was a long-time volunteer of the block parents, St. Johns Ambulance and Trinity United Church Loaves and Fishes. Nan was known and loved for her quick sense of humor and her outfits for all occasions, her license plate summed it up U-NO-NAN.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Kenny (Dee), Howie Centre, Timmy (Tara), Sydney, Wendell (Donna), New Waterford, Todd (Anita), South Bar, Gail (Gary), South Bar, Jennifer (Darren) Huntington, Sydney; sisters, Rhodena Spencer, Glace Bay, Marguerite Brushett, Glace Bay, Mary (Ralph) Costard, Stewiacke; brothers, George (Virginia), Reserve Mines, Carl (Chris), Lower Sackville, Harold (Judy), Glace Bay; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
