Gwendolyn Joyce Dalling, 86, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Hopewell, NS, on September 17, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Colburne and Helen (Chisholm) Nichols.
Gwen is survived by her sons, Blaine Nichols, Tim Dalling; a daughter, Sherri (Scott R.) MacDonald; grandchildren: Scott M. MacDonald (Sherry), B. Ashley MacDonald, Jamie-Gwen and Jay Dalling; great-grandchildren: Shayla, Jessica and Scottie MacDonald, a sister, Luanne (Dudy) Cranwell, Aunt Etta, Santa Rosa, California; sisters-in-law: Joanne, Joan and Jean, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her former husband, James T. Dalling; brothers: Weldon, Lloyd and Carl Nichols; a sister-in-law, Jean.
Cremation to take place.
At Gwen’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date from the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, with burial of ashes to be held in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Gwen may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
