S. Marguerite Burke
On June 26th Mom and mother-in-law, Marguerite Burke died. Dave and I are forever grateful for the loving support and kindness given to us during Mom’s journey to God and her death. Our family, both here and away who provided love, comfort and the gift of time for us; friends and neighbours who expressed their love for Mom with stories and memories that gave us laughter and joy and helped to ease our sadness. Thank you to Fr. Paul Murphy and the Holy Redeemer Senior choir for a holy and blessed Funeral Mass; to her pallbearers, nephews, Vincent and Shawn Healy, John Young, Bill Farr, Brian Laughlin and Donald Orychuck; honorary pallbearers, Kitty Gillis, Margie MacDougall and Carol Whitty; to lectors, Evelyn Young-niece and Kevin Cameron-godson; gift bearers, nieces, Anne Farr, Kelley Laughlin and Susan Healey and Eucharistic Ministers, Elaine Sawlor and Bob Whitty. To you who visited both in the hospital and at the visitation, attended the Funeral Mass, sent Mass and sympathy cards and flower arrangements and provided food and comfort we are humbled and blessed by you all. To the hospital staff of 4C, the invaluable team in Palliative Care, to the Doctors and Nurses who gave their best for Mom’s comfort we could not ask for anything more. To Bill Laurie and the staff at the Whitney Pier Funeral Home your professionalism and compassion at this time was invaluable to us. Thank you and God Bless you all.
