The death occurred suddenly at home in Tignish on Sunday July 21, 2019 of Emmett F. Profit aged 79 years. Companion of the late Irma (Mokler) Ahearn. He was born in Tignish on June 9, 1940, the son of the late Carl and Janie (Harper) Profit. Cherished father to Janice Livingstone (Trent), West Point; step-father to Shawn Ahearn (Leanna), Peterville; Terry Ahearn (Jackie), Tignish; Kelly Ahearn (Desmond), St. Louis; Jason Ahearn (Linda), St Peter & St Paul. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Sheila LeClair, St. Roch. Loving grandfather to Matthew (Amanda), Derek (Whitney) Profit; T J and Casey Livingstone; Clay, Jeannie, Darci, Sarah Ahearn; Anna and Thomas Handrahan; Tommy, Jerico and Gus Ellsworth; great grandfather to Carleigh, Riley, Brooklynn and Shalynn. Dear brother to Edward (Margaret); Leo (Ann), Jean Shea; Gloria Kennedy (Gerard); Rose Profit, Nettie Aylward (Wayne); Louis (Louise) and Jacinta Jones (Laurie); sister-in-law Bonnie Profit, Profit’s Corner. He was predeceased by parents Carl and Janie; son Carl; granddaughter Paige Livingstone; brothers Donnie, Billy, sister Charlotte, niece Kimberley Shea, nephews Mark Profit, Lee Shea, grandson Jessie Harper. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road for visiting hours Wednesday 6-9 pm and Thursday 9-9:45 am. Funeral will be held Thursday July 25 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 am. Rev. John Molina, celebrant. After the funeral, interment will take place at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Palmer Road. Memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
