Helen Theresa MacAulay

“Helen and Charlie together at last”
It is with not sadness but joy that we said goodbye June 3, 2011, to our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend Helen MacAulay as she finally is reunited with the love of her life Charlie MacAulay.
Helen leaves behind her daughter Agnes Werth (Brian), son Ken McKinnon, daughter Elaine Rustad, granddaughters Coral-Lee Schober (Allan), Nicole Rustad (Brad Cronquist), Allison Sandberg (Larry), Shawna Werth-Goran (Andrew), Tana McKinnon and grandson Ryan Rustad (Kelly). The apples of her eyes were her great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly: great-grandsons Riley, Brendan, Alex, Matthew, Cameron, Grayson; great-granddaughters Riley Marie, and the most recent addition, newborn Sophia – one angel leaves and another arrives! She also leaves behind her older brothers Cyril and Ron along with many cherished nieces and nephews across Canada.
Helen was born in Prince Edward Island and worked hard her entire life doing it with a smile on her face, energy and enthusiasm. She married Charlie MacAulay and was blessed with three children whom she loved dearly. From P.E.I., Helen and Charlie moved across Canada to B.C. eventually purchasing the Windy Point Lodge. In 1973 they retired to Kelowna where they enjoyed the Kelowna Golf & Country Club, church activities at St. Pius X, and wonderful neighbors who became life-long friends on Valley Road.
Helen will always be remembered for her kind, warm and generous heart, love of family and friends, the twinkle in her eyes, a home that welcomed all, apple pies, great stories and modeling a marriage like none other.
A very special thank you to St. Pius X Church, Helen’s friends and the staff at Sun Pointe Lodge who ensured her last seven months were as happy and comfortable as can be.
In lieu of flowers, we know Helen would rather you plant roses in your garden, donate your time to the elderly or make a donation to a charity that helps children or animals.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Monday, June 13, 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X, 1077 Fuller Avenue, Kelowna, B.C.
