ROACH, John – Sunrise - August 22, 1921. Sunset - June 10, 2011, of Glovertown. WWII Veteran, Newfoundland Forestry (1939-1940), Royal Navy (1940-1945). Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Friday, June 10th, 2011, age 89 years. Predeceased by his mother Maggie, father Samuel, infant twin sons, Donald and David, and sister Evelyn. Leaving behind with saddened hearts, his wife of 65 years Dorothy; children Lynda Cunningham (Jim), Kathleen Feltham, Karyl Wells (Jerry), David Roach and Cindy Roach; grandchildren John, Joel, Cathy, Barb, Karyn, Diana, Jaclyn, Heather; great-grandchildren Lisa, Leah, Sarah, Sabah, Suzannah, Emily, Benjamin and Liam; sister Rowena Luscombe (Ontario); brothers-in-law Tom Clapp and Tom Mithan (South Wales); as well as many other family and friends. The family would like to personally thank the staff of Oram's Birchview Manor for the special care and attention he received over the last two years, as well as the doctors and nurses in the critical care unit at JPM Hospital. Visitation will take place at Oram’s Funeral Home, Glovertown, Sunday, June 12th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service at 2 pm, Monday, June 13th, at Faith United Church, Glovertown. Donations may be given to Faith United Church or a charity of your choice.
Your gentle heart, quiet humour, and strong spirit will always be remembered...
