Ernest "Ernie" LeBlanc
LeBLANC, ERNEST “ERNIE” - Ernest “Ernie” LeBlanc, 81, of Moncton, passed away at K.E. Spencer Memorial Home on Wednesday June 15, 2011. Born on February 18, 1930 in Cap-Pelé, NB, he was the son of the late Jules and Emma (Melanson) LeBlanc. "Ernie" as he was so fondly known by all, will be remembered for his love of music. His guitar and harmonicas have traveled down many roads over the years as he and Rita entertained in many nursing homes, hospitals and charity functions with their many musical friends to bring a smile and a little toe tapping to someone’s day. Ernie’s love for his wife and family, his smiling face, always ready to tell a joke or play a tune and his hard work were all part of the man we all loved. Ernie was a great salesman. Over the years, he was a salesman for Nobles Car Sales, Singer Sewing Machines, Alec E. Ross and Norm's Heating, foreman for the Department of Public Works, building roads in New Brunswick. He was also a sales rep. for Metro Fuels and then moved on to establish Vacuflo N.B. and then Ernie's Built in Vacuums and Alarms which he owned and operated until he retired. He is survived by the love of his life for over 60 years, Rita (Roy) LeBlanc, his 12 children: Raymond, Theresa Morrison (Jamie) and Majella Remington (Wyatt), all of Moncton, Diana LeBlanc (Jean) of Memramcook, Annette Vanderfluit (Conrad) of Springhill, NS, Anita Coates (Jerry LeBlanc) and Jeannette Steeves (Allan), both of Dundas, Ronald (Roxanne), Armand (Valerie), Eric (Patricia) and Edith Cormier (Roland Gautreau), all of Memramcook and Yvonne Moore (Chris) of Salisbury; one sister: Yvonne Daly (Tony) of Etobicoke, ON; one brother: Henry LeBlanc (late Margerie) of Pickering, ON; one sister-in-law: Edna (late Arthur) of Dieppe; two brothers-in-law: Dennis Roy (late Nancy) of Florida and Edger Roy (Geneva) of Leominster, Mass.; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one new great-great-granddaughter, as well as many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to all the staff on “Fernwood Wing” at Spencer’s Nursing Home for their wonderful care of my husband and our Dad during his stay with them. Your kindness and thoughtful ways to Dad and to all of us will always hold a special place in our hearts for each and every one of you. To our granddaughter Christina, your loving care of Grampy during his last days with us will never be forgotten. You are very special to all of us. Thank you! He is predeceased by five sisters: Léa, Anna, Bertha, Edmée and Dora, as well as four brothers: Albert, Adélard, Arthur and Emile.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of departure (9:45).
