STORRIE, Wayne Graham -- 64, Canning, Kings County, passed away June 12, 2011, surrounded by family. The son of the late Verna (Keddy) Storrie and Jack Storrie, Kentville, he is survived by his husband, Wayne Ward: Children: Ryan (Tasha Weisner) Ward, Jessica (Immanuel) Brewster (Ward), Nathan (Alisha Huntley) Ward, Marcella (Tyler MacKay) Ward; 6 grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Wayne is survived by sister Gail (Martin) Huntley (Storrie) Liverpool; brother Brian (Peggy) Storrie, Halifax; 2 nephews (Mark and John) and 2 nieces (Lorri and Tanya). Wayne and Wayne have operated Canning Daylily Gardens for 8 years. Wayne Storrie was responsible for the Nova Scotia Garden Club Association’s official flower (Silver Thaw). Wayne was a graduate of Acadia University with a BA degree and he taught school for 12 years. After graduate studies, he became a Medical Laboratory Technologist where he worked in the serology lab at the Halifax Infirmary for 26 years. Wayne had many, many friends and a community which loved him. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 17th, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Canning United Baptist Church, with Rev. Donald Rafuse officiating. Reception to follow. Internment at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canning United Baptist Church (Deacon’s Fund).
