It is with great sadness that we, the family, regret to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many, Jessie Louise MacPhee, September 9, 2009 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, NS, on March 22, 1931, Jessie was the daughter of the late Martin and Lavenia (Snow) Chipman.
Jessie is the last surviving maember of her immediate family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Kenneth (Bessie), Stephen (Wanda), Martin (Cindy), Douglas (Wendy), Allan (Debbie), Dale (Debbie); two special daughters-in-law, Avern Brown, Alma Corbett, 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, her pride and joy, Candy.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Dan; son, Jamie; brothers, John, Abe, Art, Dick, Bill; three in infancy; sisters, Mil, Liz, Mabel, Boot, Jen, Gert, Bud.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the An Cala Unit at CBRH. The VON the County Homemakers, the City Homemakers, special friend and neighbour, Marlene Wambolt.
Visitation will be held at the Sydney Memorial Chapel today (Friday), September 11, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church, Saturday, September 12 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials in Jessie’s memory may be made to the Holy Redeemer Church building fund.
