
Wesley Sears
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wesley Walter Sears, 82, of Amherst on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan with his loving family by his side.
Born on March 13, 1929 in New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Wesley and Mary (Lorette) Sears.
Wes worked at several jobs, before retiring he worked for Atlantic Wholesalers for twenty four years. Wes had a great love for horses and he loved to spend time on the home farm where he was born with the many horses owned by his nephew Bobby. He loved making fudge and sharing it with all his friends. In his later years, Wes bowled and played darts. He will always be remembered by his loving partner, Phyllis Chapman, her sons, Rickey (Marilyn) Hicks, Randy (Cindy) Hicks and Randy’s son, Chris. His granddaughters, Kim and Tosha Dowe, also survived by his sisters, Julia Bulmer, Sackville, NB and Millie Lynn, Burnaby, BC, many special nieces, nephews and extended family.
Wes was predeceased by his wife the former, Phebe Dowe, five brothers, Beverly, Harold, Robert, Vernon and infant brother, Lloyd, three sisters, Irene, Louise and Greta as well as his special nephew, Jimmy Sears.
His remains are resting in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting hours on Friday, June 24, 2011 from noon until funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Pam Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
