STELLARTON – Maude Clara Gouthro, age 75, formerly of Stellarton, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the home of her son Kevin.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late David and Mabel (Coulee) Conway.
Maude was a resident of Stellarton since 1979. During her working life she was employed with the Aberdeen Hospital from where she retired. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. Maude enjoyed knitting as a past time.
Surviving are sons: Gregory of St. Antoine, Que.; Stephen (Janice) of Westville; Michael (Kathy) of Alberta; Patrick (Sheilagh) of St. Martin, Que.; Bobbie (Wanda) of Pictou; Norman (Stephanie) of Ottawa; Bruce (Bridget) of Stellarton; Kevin (Annette) of Trenton; daughters, Linda (Jack) Wilson of Montreal; Susan of Montreal; Colleen (Ron) Smith of Truro; Allyson (Lawrence) of New Glasgow; 32 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother David of Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Gordon ”Bobby” Gouthro; brothers, William and Gerald; sisters, Anne and Betty.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Father Peter MacDonald officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Maude may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home.
