BOURQUE, ROBERT - 1933-2011 - The death of Robert Bourque, 77, of Shemogue, occurred at the Dr. Georges L Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Born in Grande-Digue, Robert was a son of the late Philip and Irene (Gallant) Bourque. Robert had been a life-long steelworker. He was the owner and manager of Cap-Pele Reinforcing Steel. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 41 years, Rosella (Jacob); three sons, Daniel (Paula), Denis (Jennifer), and Marc (Debby) all of Cap-Pele; three grandchildren, Yan, Colin, and Haly; seven brothers, Ulysse (Liliane), Shediac, Clarence (Marguerite), Shediac, Emile, Little Cape, Philip (Gloria), Shemogue, Simon (Diane), Grand-Barachois, Eloi (Sara), Shemogue, Guy (Ida), Cap-Pele; five sisters, Adeline (Norman) Dollard, Scoudouc, Juliette (late Gerard) Lirette, Kitchener, Yvonne (Gerald) Lemieux, Sherbrooke, Valerice (Arcade) LeBlanc, Shemogue, and Claire Bourque of Shediac; many nieces and nephews as well as his many close friends. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by two sisters, Vitaline and Justine.
Honoring Robert's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin (538-2241). There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:30 am from St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, Shemogue. Fr. Emery Brien officiating.
