Ralph Miller

MILLER, RALPH TURNER - 1932-2011 - After a long and courageous fight, we are saddened to announce the passing of Ralph Turner Miller of Florenceville (Connell) that occurred on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB. Born in Connell on September 4, 1932 he was the son of the late Norman and Doris (Peters) Miller. Ralph graduated from Teachers College in 1952 and then graduated from UNB in 1971 with a B.A. He taught school for over 20 years. An entrepreneur at heart, he owned and operated Miller’s Rod and Gun Shop over 15 years. Ralph was an avid sportsman, member of the Miramichi Salmon Association, professional gunsmith, fly tying and past President of the Florenceville Rotary Club. Ralph took great pride in his family, always giving sound advice and hands on help. He was a great dad and a wonderful grandfather to his four grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Ralph is survived by his wife of 50 years, Blanche (Featherston), three children, Melanie Hutchison (Harold) of Florenceville, Andrea Miller (Kevin) of Fredericton and Scott Miller of Florenceville; lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Lindsay and Andrew Hutchison, Allie and Elliott Jeffery; two sisters, Marilyn Crawford and Doreen Graham and several nieces, nephew and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, James and infant sister, Joyce.
Visitation will be held from Faith Memorial United Church, 175 Burnham Rd. Florenceville - Bristol on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the church. Rev. Elaine Strawbridge will officiate. Donations may be made to the Faith Memorial United Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice. L.R.
