1936 - 2011

Ray Harding passed away peacefully at North Okanagan Hospice, Vernon, BC on June 20, 2011.

Ray was born March 11, 1936 at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops. He attended Stuart Wood School and Kamloops High on St. Paul Street. Ray lived in, or around, Kamloops most of his life, working mainly in the logging industry. His fifteen years of retirement were spent keeping his yard and gardens to his high standards. His delicious vegetables will be missed by his family and friends.

Ray was a skilled and meticulous craftsman. He built his log cabin workshop where he spent many happy hours restoring and refinishing damaged pieces of furniture back to their original state as well as building custom pieces to order. These skills earned him the name of 'Mr. Magic' from one of his delighted customers.

Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary-Lynne, daughter Melinda, son Guy, daughter-in-law Marlies, granddaughter Justine, nieces Barbara MacEwan and Linda (Ley) McMillan.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Ethel Harding, sisters Viola and Joan.

The family gives heartfelt thanks to Dr. James Howie for his years of care as well as the staff of Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their care of our husband, father, grandfather and uncle, over the past month, specifically Dr. C. Andrews, Dr. J. De Beer, the nursing staff of 3 West, ambulance attendants and ER nurses.

At Ray's request there will be no service.
