Daniel Saunders
SAUNDERS, DANIEL ROBERT HAROLD - March 03, 1958 - June 16, 2011 - Suddenly at Invermere B.C. General Hospital. Danny is survived by his father Bob, step mother Murielle (Roy) of Fredericton, wife Julie, daughter Jayme and son Zachery of Invermere, two sisters Debbie Smith of Huston, B.C. and Kim Taillon of Ottawa, Uncles Ross of Kelowna, B.C., Ronald and John of London, ON and Aunts Sandra of St. Thomas and Barbara of Thorndale, ON, plus many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Dorothy Saunders of Fredericton who passed away April 2009. Danny graduated from FHS in 1975 and after working for his father at City Tire Services he travelled to Calgary, worked at the Keg and started in the Hang Gliding business for Willie Mueller Kites. He fell in love with the mountains and never left; moving to Lake Windermere in the Kooteny Mountains near Radium Hot Springs.
He owned and operated Mom’s Enterprises Refurbishing Furniture, Boat Covers, Car and Restaurant Upholstery and Building Hang Gliders. Danny was very active in his community, running an annual Hang Gliding event off Mount Swansea, Coats for Kids, Cub Scouts, Beavers, and coaching baseball. He lived and loved life, his family and his friends. And he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A memorial park bench will be dedicated to him in Invermere - if desired donations can be mailed to Invermere Paramedics, Stn 411, Invermere, B.C., V0A 1K0.
