Passed peacefully away at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, in the presence of her daughters and her grand daughter (Ellen), Lucy Margaret (Pretty) Griffin, aged 86 years, of Chapel Arm. Predeceased by her husband James, daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Coffey, her parents James and Ellen (Peddle) Pretty. 4 sisters, Elizabeth, Josephine, Agnes and Susannah and special nephew Donald. Leaving to mourn are her 9 children, Margaret (Sis) (James Power), Anthony (Georgette), Mary Ellen (Martin Power Jr), Agnes (Harold Piercey), Edward (Dottie), Roger (Madge), Alphonsus (Keli), Shelly (Darrell Thorne), Shirley (Bob Piercey), son-in-law Clarence Coffey. 30 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren. 4 sisters: Ida (John Brazil), Nellie Power, Viola Ralph, and Sadie Griffin. 1 sister-in-law Jessie Bishop and a large number of family and friends. Lucy is resting at the Roman Catholic Church, Chapel Arm. Visitation Saturday, July 2 at 2:00 - 9:30 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Funeral mass to be held on Monday, July 4 at 10:30 am. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Long Harbour Road. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne.
