WILLIGAR, FLORENCE K. – 97, of Parrsboro and Amherst passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Gables Lodge in Amherst. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Janie (Sears) Kendrick. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia “Pat” Gouchie, Amherst; a sister, Josephine Yorke, Elliott Lake, Ont.; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Gouchie, Amherst; Jennifer Gouchie, Moncton; Janice Landry (Greg), Amherst; 7 great-grandchildren, Justin Landry, Samantha Landry, Colton Dempsey, Amelia Gouchie, Brandon Dempsey, Natasha Gouchie, Tyler Landry; daughter-in-law, Florence, Glace Bay; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Capt. Karl Willigar; a son, Carl “Corky”; son in law, Earl J. Gouchie; several sisters and brothers. Visitation 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father David MacDonald officiating.
