Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton on Friday September 18, 2009 of Alfred Joseph Perry formerly of Pleasant View, P.E.I age 96 years. Born on December 8, 1912 he was the son of the late Edmund F. and Beatrice (nee Bernard) Perry. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret (nee Bernard) Perry of the Maplewood Manor, Alberton who would have celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary on September 19, 2009. Dear father to Sheila (Clair) Gallant of Alberton; Ralph (June) of Tignish; Clayton (Hazel) of DeBlois; Leigh (Christine) of Pleasant View; Wanda (Jerry) Saunders of Alberton; and Justin of Pleasant View. He is also survived by a son-in-law Michael Kinch of Alberton, 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Alyre Perry of Sudbury, Ont.; Leroy (Carol) of Denver, Colorado; Francis of Barrie, Ont.; Gerard (Shirley) of Whitby, Ont; Lester (Martha) of Summerside; Cecilia (Junior) Smith of Toronto, Ont.; Orella Gauthier of Toronto, Ont. Brother-in-law to Carol Perry of Port Elgin; Edith Perry of Tignish; Alfred Weatherbie of Pownal; Joe Keene of Ontario; and Jim Gauthier of Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by a daughter Sadie Kinch, grandchildren Phillip Kinch, Michelle Kinch, Ronnie Kinch, and Darryl Gallant. Also by a son-in-law Glendon Pederson, brothers Henry, Melvin (Florence) Alcide, Ernest (Barbara Ann), Arthur (Margaret), Mary Weatherbie, Rita (Amie) Arsenault, Anne Keene, as well as 1 brother and 3 sisters in childhood, sisters-in-law Beatrice Perry and Claire Perry. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Monday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish for funeral mass at 1 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
