It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Catherine Neville 'Kay' who passed away peacefully at home July 16, 2011 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Kay is now resting in the arms of her late husband, Jim.
Born February 16, 1936, Kay was the only daughter of the late Alice and Samuel MacDonald.
Kay worked for many years with the elderly and enjoyed many of the friendships she made with not only the residents at New Dawn Guest Home but also the staff who many remain close friends until her death. Kay had two main passions in her life, her husband Jim, her children and grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. She cherished the time spent with all of them up until her final days. Kay was a lady who had an incredible sense of humour, quick wit and loved to share laughs with family and friends.
Kay is survived by her children, Neil (Ann Marie), Mick (Diane), Toronto, Julia (the late Neil 'Biff' MacNeil), Sydney, Alice (Doll), Sydney, Robert, Alberta, Kelly Skinner (Brian), Enfield and Chris (Sarah), Sydney. Kay will be missed everyday by her grandchildren, Alana Mollon (Les), Jamie and Mark Neville (Candice), Kirk, Lori (Darrell) and Ryan MacDonald, Stanley and Robyn Gillis, Mark Sampson, Chris and Kyle Skinner and many great grandchildren.
Kay was predeceased by her late husband, Jim; sons, William and Thomas; and a grandchild, Glenn MacDonald.
The family would like to thank Jim's sisters, brothers and their spouses for their continuous support and love throughout this difficult time.
A Celebration to honour our belated mother, Kay Neville will take place at Holy Redeemer Parish, Whitney Pier on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy Officiating. Light refreshments will be served following the service at the Pier Community Funeral Home in the reception area. Interment will take place in Eastmount Cemetery, Whitney Pier.
We can all rest easy knowing that Kay and Jim are together again.
Donations in memory of Kay may be made to 'Adopt a Family at Christmas'.
